Far Cry Primal Upgrade and Crafting Guide for Beginners

Takkar doesn't have to guns, a flight suit or gadgets. In Far Cry Primal you must craft everything from the resources available to you. To aid you in the Takkar’s journey we’ve constructed a handy list of all the upgrades and crafting blueprints. You’re welcome!

Takkar Crafting and Upgrades

Bow

Upgrade 1 - Unlocked automatically after the first mission in the story

Upgrade 2 - Upgrade Takkar’s Cave to Level 1 / Adds Rapid Fire / Requires 6x South Stone, 8x South Rock Dust

Club

Upgrade 1 - Unlocked automatically after first mission in the story

Upgrade 2 - Upgrade Takkar’s Cave to Level 1 / Increased Damage, Durability and Agility / Requires 12x Maple, 6x South Rock Dust, 4x South Stone.

Spear

Upgrade 1 - Discover Your Village / Requires 4 Alder Wood, 2 Slate and 1 Reed

Upgrade 2 - Increase Damage, Durability and Agility / Requires 6x North Cedar, 8x North Black Rock, 6x North Clay.

Upgrade 3 – Increase Damage, Durability and Agility / Requires 12x North Cedar, 8x North Black Rock, 6x North Clay. 

Upgrade 4 – Increase Damage, Durability and Agility / Requires 10x South Maple, 1x Rare South Stone, 10x South Stone.

Upgrade 5 – Increase Damage, Durability and Agility / Requires 4x Rare South Maple, 4x Rare South Stone, 20x South Rock Dust. 

Sting Bomb

Upgrade 1 - Takkar’s Cave Level 1 / 4x Animal Hide, 2x Bee Cluster

Bait

Upgrade 1 - Unlock through story progression

Guts Bag

Upgrade 1 – This unlocks after you first discover Your Village / Increases carrying capacity for Bait, Meat and Animal Fat / Requires 2 Boar Skin.

Upgrade 2 – This unlocks after completing the first mission for Tensay/ Increases carrying capacity for Bait, Meat and Animal Fat / Requires 4 Dhole Skins.

Upgrade 3 – Increases carrying capacity for Bait, Meat and Animal Fat / Requires 5x Yak Skin.

Upgrade 4 – Increases carrying capacity for Bait, Meat and Animal Fat / Requires 5x Tall Elk Skin.

Long Bow

Sling

Upgrade 1 - Find and build Jayma’s Hut / Jayma’s Hut Level 1 / 4x South Maple, 2x South Stone, 8x Animal Hide

Two Handed Club 

Upgrade 1 - Bring Karoosh to the village / Karoosh Hut Level 1 / 8x North Cedar and 8x Bone

Upgrade 2 - Requires 4x Rare North Cedar, 4x Blood of Oros, 20x North Clay

Winter Clothing

Upgrade 1 - Bring Karoosh to the village / Karoosh Hut Level 1 / 4x Wolf Skin. (Cold Meter Drains after 10 minutes)

Upgrade 2 - 2x White Wolf Skin, 2x Rare Yak Skin (Full Protection Against Cold)

Wogah Crafting and Upgrades

Grappling Claw

Upgrade 1 - Complete mission to get Wogah to join your village. Inside the “trap” cave use a jaguar to search the corpse.

Club Belt

Club Belt Upgrade 1 – This becomes available after you get Wogah to join the village / Increases club carrying capacity / Requires 3x Dhole skin.

Club Belt Upgrade 2 – Increases club carrying capacity / Requires 3x Jaguar Skin. 

Club Belt Upgrade 3 – Increases club carrying capacity / Requires 4x Leopard Skin.

Club Belt Upgrade 4 – Increases club carrying capacity / Requires 4x Sabretooth Skin. 

Spear 

Upgrade 1 – This becomes available after you get Wogah to join the village / Increases spear carrying capacity / Requires 3x Wolf Skin. 

Upgrade 2 – Increases spear carrying capacity / Requires 4x Cave Lion Skin. 

Upgrade 3 – Increases spear carrying capacity / Requires 2x Bitefish Skin. 

Upgrade 4 – Increases spear carrying capacity / Requires 5x Whoolly Rhino Skin. 

Trap

Upgrade 1 - This becomes available after you get Wogah to join the village / Wogah Hut Level 1 / 12x Hardwood, 8x Animal Hide, 6x Bone

Pack

Upgrade 1 - This becomes available after you get Wogah to join the village / Wogah Hut Level 1 / Increases carrying capacity for weapons and resources and food / 2x Goat Skin

Upgrade 2 - Increases carrying capacity for weapons and resources and food / 3x Tapir Skin

Stone Shard

Upgrade 1 - This becomes available after you get Wogah to join the village  / 3x Blood of Oros, 4x Animal Hide

Upgrade 2 - Can penetrate most enemy masks / Requires 4x Rare South Stone, 8x Animal Hide.

Hunter Belt

Upgrade 1 – This becomes available after you get Wogah to join the village Increases carrying capacity for traps and sting bombs / Requires Wogah’s Hut level 1, 2x White Wolf Skin.

Upgrade 2 –  Increases carrying capacity for traps and sting bombs / Requires 3x Mammoth Skin.

Upgrade 3 – Increases carrying capacity for traps and sting bombs / Requires 1x Rare Jaguar Skin.

Berserk Shard

Upgrade 1 - This becomes available after you get Wogah to join the village / Requires Wogah’s Hut level 1, 3x Blood of Oros, 8x Animal Hide, 1x Rare North Yellow Leaf

Throwing Shard Belt

Throwing Shard Belt Upgrade 1 – This becomes available after you get Wogah to join the village. Increase shard carrying capacity / Wogah’s Hut level 1, 3x Goat Skin.

Throwing Shard Belt Upgrade 2 – Increase shard carrying capacity / Requires 3x Badger Skin.

Throwing Shard Belt Upgrade 3 – Increases shard carrying capacity / Requires 4x Monkey Skin. 

Throwing Shard Belt Upgrade 4 – Increases shard carrying capacity / Requires 4x Sabretooth Tiger Skin. 

Bomb Belt

Bomb Belt Upgrade 1 – This becomes available when you upgrade Wogah’s Hut to level 2. Requires Wogah’s Hut level 2, 3x Cave Bear Skin, 10x Deer Skin

Bomb Belt Upgrade 2 – Increases carrying capacity of Berserk Bombs and Fire Bombs / Requires 3x Bitefish Skin, 10x Boar Skin.
