FIFA 2011 - Demo Preview

by Canana on  Sep 20, 2010

Soccer fans, FIFA 11 is almost here and just only a few days left for another instalment of this popular franchise to kick off. After checking the demo, we can say that FIFA 11 is keeping the quality presented in previous releases. Thus, it was possible to ratify the improvements in the development both in gameplay and in the technical resources (audio, and especially graphics).

If you already think the 2009 and 2010 editions of the series offer a solid set of controls, precision and challenges, get ready. Now, is more fundamental to dominate the analogic stick and the intensity of the grips on the buttons to pass, release - air or crawling - and kicking. The 2011 version detects any variations in the desired direction for a pass, for example. This is just one of the points that requires full attention, especially for those who aren't familiar with the series. Direct kicks, corner kicks, crosses and even defensive moves must be made with caution. But it is a joy to see that after the completion of some matches, the dedicated gamer is able to proceed with a good mark in the tutorials. Who likes to "play nice", however, must think and act quickly with the dribble commands. Protect the ball and keep it always dominated is crucial to overcome tough opponents led by another player or controlled by artificial intelligence in the higher difficulty levels.

An intriguing feature of FIFA 11 is the presence of a diverse set of new moves. This is further emphasized during the control of stars like Kaka, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The folks at EA really protaited the actions that strongly characterize the varied styles of the athletes.Fortunately, the sound is still good. The narration is somewhat sparse, but the supporters remains vibrant. The impact of the kicks and other sound effects are combined with nice graphical presentation. It can be said that technical innovations are satisfactory, however the experience - from a broader perspective - not as realistic as many expected.

Who is having fun with the Superstars FIFA (EA Sports game for the Facebook channel) can unlock certain items in both games. Just for trying the demo unlocks 11 Match Tokens, but score a goal unlock a Gold athlete in Superstars. Moreover, the gamer is rewarded with 30 000 coins if you win five games in FIFA 11. This also makes the Arsenal team  available in the demo. Finally, playing ten matches - winning or not - unlocks 11 other Superstars  and Emirates Stadium in the demo version of FIFA 11.
