inFamous 2

New inFamous, new Cole McGrath. At least that was the initial proposal from Sucker Punch, until the production company began receiving a flood of emails complaining about the good-looking guy and that he had taken the place of the original ascetic protagonist in the first two trailers  of inFamous 2. Okay, solved. inFamous 2 bring new destructible environments, a trully pyrotechnics arsenal, renewed history ... but the same Cole McGrath. Well, almost the same. Pulling the strings of new-old Cole, is the debutant actor Eric Ladin - whose performance has served the versatile motion capture techniques resulting in a familiar character, but more agile than ever. However, the controversy regarding the protagonist isn't the only news in inFamous 2. As you may have read, the plot takes place in the city of New Marais, New Orleans kind of cover, and put again the hero against the dreaded "Beast."

Along with his partner Zeke - with some notable visual changes - Cole goes to New Marais to rediscover "Beast." Arriving in the city, he discovers that a local force known as "The Militia" has been charged with slaughtering all abnormalities ... Including, of course, superheroes with electric powers. After destroying dozens of smaller enemies, and so demonstrate the ability to create beautiful environments destructible in the revamped game engine, here comes one of those abominations. The "Revenger", a mutant born in the swamps of New Marais - a real catalyst for mutations of the most unpredictable nature.

The huge mutant grab cars and any other nearby objects to throw in the direction of the main character. In response, Cole demonstrates his new skill: Cole is now able to control objects in midair. Thus, cars are quickly returned to the lender. The moss-covered building serves as the venue for some of Cole's acrobatics. At one point, the protagonist  exchanges a bank that floated over his head by a truck - which indicates that almost any item of the scenario is also a potential weapon.

The idea of Sucker Punch about inFamous 2 is quite simple, it should resemble a game of superheroes. How? Well, apparently the answer is to include a whole new set of enemies. During PAX (Penny Arcade Expo), Cole walks in swamplands using various melee weapons against many reapers that he finds in the scenario. "The Amp" for example, is a pair of metal bars that can be electrified to boost the attack - that is: to burn enemies in an amazing lighting show. Sucker Punch seems particularly keen not only to correct the flaws of the first title, but also in rising the series to a new quality level. At least that is what indicates the new story and new powers of MacGrath Cole. inFamous 2 should make an appearance sometime in 2011. Stay tuned for more.
