Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is bringing back the beloved cooperative series. With Nintendo publishing the title players can dive right back in the iconic Marvel universe as their favorite heroes. It's exactly what players loved about the series. Defeating iconic villains within the Marvel universe while controlling your favorite hero.

I played as Captain Marvel but the options were ample. With Thor, Storm, Miles Morales, Wolverine, and so many other heroes to choose from. Each one had their own selection of powers and unique abilities, such as Wolverine able to constantly heal over time and Captain Marvel able to fly.

The core controls remained largely the same across the heroes. With heavy and light attacks mixed together with unique abilities for that specific hero. Players can, of course, play alone with AI allies or with up to 3 friends either on a single-screen or multiple systems. Since I was alone the helpful guide was willing to be my temporary ally for the demo.

The stages complemented the cooperative gameplay. Having players take down a large number of disposable enemies while avoiding searchlights. I did come across an issue where I was locked behind a gate after my partner was caught by the spotlight but thankfully the ally AI was able to teleport to her aid.
