The Tekken World Tour finals are wrapping up, and BANDAI NAMCO Studios has made a major announcement for Tekken 8 Season 2. It wasn't the reveal of the final DLC character, but we did get something much better: a teaser for Tekken 8 Season 2, which is set to release in Spring 2025. This is probably the biggest update Tekken 8 has received since its launch back in January.
The extensive trailer of Tekken 8 Season 2 revealed plenty of details, and there are major balance patches, which is pretty common for large updates like this. BANDAI NAMCO has announced that every single character will receive new moves, and they showed plenty of new moves that will be added to several of the characters.
In addition, we recently learned that Anna Williams will appear in Tekken 8 Season 2. There are also some other announcements that’ll be included in Season 2. The first feature is the Photo Mode, followed by the Player Search feature. There's no reason why every multiplayer game shouldn't include this. It just makes things easier. Adding friends is extremely annoying in Tekken, especially if you play on different platforms. Now, you can simply search for anyone you want.
They've announced some new customization options. We believe they are adding a lot more, which is always welcome. They're including Tekken fan art in the game. They'll add a tab that keeps it updated and allows you to scroll through. Then there’s Fight Pass, but they are planning a special Fight Pass for the 30th anniversary. The game will have some new customization options, too.
As for the new moves for the characters, based on the new trailer, Steve appears to have a brand-new heat move. We also see that Law has a new combo extender. It appears to be a new tailspin for his stuff. King has a new wall ender, which is quite interesting. Paul also appears to have a new move, possibly a homing move for extending combos. We see that Eddy has a new heat engager, which is interesting.
Azucena has reached a new low. That will greatly benefit her. Fengwei has a new heat smash animation, possibly as a follow-up that does not enter stance or something. This is a large one. Jin's full crouch 4 no longer results in a knockdown but rather a stance. We see that Asuka has a new forward 2-1 heat engager. She'll most likely be able to hit confirm for a combo while in heat.
And now we're back to the Anna Williams reveal. She is definitely going to appear in season two. So, let's wait until Spring 2025 to see what Tekken 8 Season 2 has to offer. This confirms that Anna Williams will appear in Tekken 8 Season 2. But what about the season's final character?
Well, BANDAI NAMCO has officially announced that the final DLC character will be revealed during The Game Awards 2024. It's not a huge surprise, but it is significant because it essentially confirms that the final character will be a guest character. So that's exciting to know. We don't have to wait very long. It'll be four more days until the final DLC character is revealed.
