In Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, you’ll have to solve the Clock Tower Puzzle to reach Talos. Specifically, you must solve a switch alignment puzzle inside the Eastern Access Shaft and get through the floor, followed by a tight platforming run past moving mechanical fists.

Eastern Access Shaft Switch Puzzle

When you arrive at the Eastern Access Shaft, check your mini-map for three distinct marker icons. Your primary goal here is simple: all three switches have to be vertical at the end.

Aligning them vertically activates a giant mechanical fist mechanism that smashes through the stone floor below in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

Switch #1 Location

You will find the first switch near the entrance area. While the end goal requires every switch to be vertical, you must temporarily turn this first switch horizontal to open the path upward.

Climb up toward the top of the shaft. Along the way, take out the large bird enemy guarding the platforms so it does not knock you off your jumps.

Switch #2 Location

Continue climbing all the way to the top of the shaft to locate the second switch. Pick up the nearby item on this upper ledge, then hit the switch so that it is oriented vertically before heading back down.

Switch #3 Location

Take the left-hand pathway down toward the base of the shaft. At the very bottom, you will encounter the third switch. Turn this switch vertical as well in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

With all three switches set to vertical, trigger the main control switch. This causes the massive mechanical fist to punch downward, shattering the floor barriers and clearing your route down into the depths.

Reaching Talos

Dropping through the newly opened floor leads into a hazardous corridor filled with enemies and high-speed mechanical hazards.

Clear out the room full of enemies as you push forward. Past this combat area, you will encounter rapid-moving fist traps.

The timing here can be tight; intentionally baiting or walking right up to the boundary of their strike range helps sync up your movement windows. Be sure to pick up the ATK UP Book sitting along this path to boost your damage in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

Toward the end of the hazard corridor, the timing gets especially quick. To bypass the final fist obstacle safely, execute a wall jump off the right-hand wall surface. Clearing this jump gives you a straight run into the boss chamber of Talos.

Q. Why isn't the mechanical fist breaking the floor?

A. The floor-breaking mechanism only triggers if all three switches across the shaft are set completely vertical. If even one remains in the horizontal position you used for navigation, the fist will not smash through.

Q. Where is the ATK UP Book located?

A. The ATK UP Book sits in the lower obstacle corridor right after the shattered floor section, resting alongside the moving fist hazards before the final wall jump.
