Medusa in Castlevania: Belmont ’s Curse is basically just an agility check. Not much attack variety, just a debilitating status effect.
Her core threat is her petrifying gaze, which freezes you in place and leaves you completely vulnerable to follow-up damage. If you keep moving and respect her line of sight, her health bar drains quickly.

Avoiding Stone Gaze
The primary rule when facing Medusa is staying out of her direct gaze. If you get caught, you turn to stone for several seconds during which you cannot jump, block or evade incoming hits in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.
Whenever Medusa prepares her gaze attack, do not attempt to jump over her or guard. Instead, immediately dodge to the side.
Breaking her frontal line of sight completely neutralizes the petrification beam and prevents the status effect from triggering in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.
Flanking and Damage Openings
Standing directly in front of Medusa is the most common mistake in this encounter. Her forward-facing hitboxes are hazardous, and staying head-on leaves almost no reaction time when her eye flash starts up.
Instead, circle around and take up positions directly on her flank. Slipping to her side or behind her lets you land attacks freely while her animations play out in the opposite direction.
Strike several times from the side, disengage before she reorients, and repeat the loop until she falls in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.
