The boss fight with Dracula is close-quarters, dodging fireballs and reacting quickly to hazards on the ground. Here is a guide on how to handle every phase of the fight and land hits at the proper time.

Phase #1: Reading the Fire Attacks

The moment the battle starts, Dracula stays still for about three seconds. Attack him immediately to get free damage. Right after those three seconds end, dash backward. In Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, Dracula will stomp the floor and shoot a wave of fire at you.

During this first phase, watch out for his finger snap. When Dracula snaps his fingers, a wall of fire erupts from the arena floor.

He will then shoot fireballs right through that flame wall. Jump over the fireballs to keep yourself safe. Whenever he finishes this combination, jump in and strike.

Phase #2: Navigating Traps and Close Range Pressure

The second phase starts when you get Dracula to 50% health. His finger snap gets stronger and summons three moving walls of fire instead of just one. Back up to give yourself room to react.

Dracula uses these fire walls to trap you in small areas of the arena. When he corners you, dash behind him to avoid his stomp attack and survive his close-range strikes in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

Near the end of this phase, Dracula drops fireballs from the ceiling. Treat them like basic falling hazards, keep moving, and hit him until his health bar empties.

Phase #3: Dodging Air Attacks & Arena Hazards

Draining his health triggers the third and final phase. Dracula takes to the air for most of this part, giving him a brand-new set of moves.

He will start by flying to one end of the room to unleash a fireball barrage. These fireballs travel slowly, so you can jump over them with basic timing.

Dracula also performs an arena sweep across the screen, which gives you plenty of room to whip and grapple up to him for extra damage in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

When he lands on the ground, he relies on a basic melee strike that is simple to step away from. Finally, keep your eyes on the ground because Dracula will phase out sections of the arena floor. Stick to solid ground, hit him during his recovery frames, and you will finish the battle.
