Mammon takes the shape of a massive, spiked wheel revolving around a single glowing eye. He hits remarkably hard, moves along strange trajectories, and punishes greedy play.

Arena Layout & Battle Mechanics

The fight takes place in a wide cave with golden grapple rings attached across the ceiling. These rings are not just decorative—they give you an easy way to gain vertical clearance whenever ground attacks cover the floor in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

At the bottom of your screen, you only need to worry about a single health bar labelled Mammon. The boss does not transition through hidden health phases, meaning you can focus entirely on learning his recurring pattern loop until his health reaches zero.

Learning how to reposition before an attack goes off is the key to staying alive. Keep your distance while he winds up, step into the clear zones, and punish his recovery windows.

When Mammon winds up for a Floor Charge, he sweeps quickly across the ground. You can dash through, leap over him, or grapple onto one of the ceiling rings to stay completely safe.

The boss of the Cross Beam projects directly horizontal and vertical beams. Stand at a diagonal from both axes to avoid damage.

During the Hovering Wheel phase, the boss floats while spinning in place. You can safely walk up and land multiple hits while the ring is turning.

When he prepares the Eight-Way Starburst, beams fire out in multiple directions at once. Just stand firmly in the empty gap between any two adjacent beams.

If Mammon begins his Bounce With Falling Rocks, he leaps around while debris drops from the ceiling. Watch the floor shadows to track where rubble will land, and keep moving sideways without stopping to avoid getting crushed.

Finally, the X-Shaped Beam fires out along diagonal lines. The safest place to stand is directly beneath the center point of the boss, tucked between the lower diagonal rays in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

Best Combat Strategy for Mammon

Patience wins this fight. Because Mammon moves erratically around the arena, chasing him blindly will get you hit by sudden collision damage. Instead, wait for him to initiate an attack animation.

Identify which beam or charge he is preparing, move into the designated blind spot, and get ready to punish him during his wind-down.

In Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, when you feel trapped or mess up your positioning during a ground attack, use the ceiling rings to get your footing back and wait for his next pattern.
