Beating Arthur in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is pretty easy once you get the hang of the rhythm. This is a very movement- and positioning-heavy boss fight, as well as knowing when to flank-attack. Here is a complete guide on how to take him down without taking unnecessary damage.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse Core Strategy Jumping & Positioning

Core Strategy: Jumping & Positioning

The main trick to this fight is constantly jumping over Arthur to reach his back side. As you maneuver around him, make sure to keep a safe distance from his elbows and the back of his sword.

In Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, if you get too close and hug him, his natural movements and hitbox will trap you.

Jump over him, drop down near his feet, and land your attacks. Once he reacts, jump back over to the other side and repeat the loop.

If you are using the Vampire Killer weapon, remember that it deals extra damage at its furthest range, so hanging back just enough to catch him with the tip of the whip will speed things up.

Dodging Shield Beams and Light Explosions

When Arthur lifts his shield up, pay close attention to the light beams shining down on the arena. Wherever those light beams hit the floor, explosions will follow in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

To stay safe, head toward whichever corner is easiest to reach and find the gaps between the beams. You will need to shuffle left and right to stay inside the safe zones while the explosions go off.

Later in the fight, when he repeats this shield move, you may need to use your grapple to pull yourself up, then drop down carefully to avoid incoming hazards before finding a gap in the corner.

Finishing the Fight

After dodging his light attacks, jump right back into the cycle of leaping over him and attacking his blind spots. Watch out for occasional projectiles flying across the room, but your rolling and jumping will get you past them easily.

When fighting Arthur in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, don’t be too greedy for hits at the very end of his health bar; keep your spacing clean, and you will get the win.

FAQ

Q. How do I avoid taking damage when attacking Arthur?

A. Jump over Arthur to get behind him, but keep a bit of distance from his elbows and sword. Hitting him from behind keeps you out of the way of his front-facing attacks.

Q. How do I survive Arthur's shield light beam attack?

A. Run to the nearest corner and watch the floor. Move left and right to stand in the gaps where the light beams are not hitting to avoid the explosions.
