The Lance is your introductory polearm, and you can grab it very early in the campaign. Head to the Holy Innocents' Cemetery and track down the Fountain of Innocents in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

Scale the main building right next to the fountain to reach the roof. You will spot a treasure chest sitting up top. Open it to claim the Lance, which gives you the reach advantage needed to handle the upcoming regional boss encounter.

Halberd
