You might see that the way to Raiju at the Tenryu River is locked if you want to find him there. For this reason, you need a certain Guardian Spirit in order to use a Spirit Vein.

This power won't be given to you right away. The main story has to be played through until you reach a boss in a new area. After you beat that boss, the game takes you to a map in the snow where you have to find the Great Tengu, a bird monster.

Getting the Guardian Spirit

Fighting the Great Tengu is the key to moving forward. This boss is usually around level 50 in Nioh 3.

After you win the battle, you will receive the Guardian Spirit needed to unlock the path back at the river. With this spirit in your possession, you are ready to head back and reach the hidden area.

Finding Raiju

Travel to the Ikeda Ferry to get back to the right spot. Once you are there, look for the Spirit Vein on your map in Nioh 3.

Now that you have the right power, you can hold the button to traverse the vein and climb up. At the top of this path, you will find the Crucible Wraith known as Raiju. This completes your hunt for this target in the Tenryu River region.
