PES 2010: Become A Legend
Games by ILIAS on Nov 12, 2009
For me, it was never a question. No matter how much FIFA10 was (and still is) promoted by the companies, no matter what the big sites say, I've been a football player myself for two years (yes, you heard it here first) when I was 16 and 17 years old, I 've been watching football for more than 20 years and I can guarantee you, if you want football realism, if you want players to move, run and kick like ordinary football players and not as if they are Bolt, Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 is the game you gotta play.
Today, I'd like to focus on one of the features that got me thinking about whether to touch it or not but surprisingly, it's been one of the top features for me in PES2010. In "Become A Legend" mode, you control ONLY one player, the only you create from the very start of this mode.
You start from the age of 17 and you must choose which position your player is gonna play (you cannot choose goalkeeper, hmmmm that could be an excellent future feature), height, weight, then you start to mplay about with the face, the body shape and accessories. My favourite is the motion category where you decide the kind of dribbling your player gonna have, how he will take penalty and free kicks and last but not least, there are 80 types of goal celebration. For the true addicts, believe me, it's gonna be a very tough decision which one to choose, even though you can choose two of them. Among them there are some very famous ones such as Luca Toni's crazy celebration, Francesco Totti's sucking his finger, Fernando Torres's sliding celebration and many others.
When you get to finish creating your player, the time comes to choose the team you want to play. I decided to join West Midlands Village (mostly known as Aston Villa), after deciding that I wanted to be a striker. First you get to play in the training 90mins matches between the 1st team and the reserves team. I don't now how long it takes or what you gotta to do if you 're a midfielder or a defender, but being a striker, assisting to a goal and scoring help you rise into the team.
Another crucial feature is what kind of skills you want your player to improve. The feature is called Focus Point and you get to split your improvement points into 6 categories, techinque (kicking and dribbling), balance, power, speed and stamina. I'd choose to give 2 points on each of those categories, in order to have a balanced and ordinary improvement.
Wanna see some real pictures? Here's how Aston Villa looks like in its 3rd season.
My hero... ILIAS CHE in action, the edit page and current statistics (3rd season hasn't finished yet). Bear also in mind that I play in ordinary difficulty. Some interesting facts I'd like to add is that no matter how good Abgonlahor he is, we barely exchange any passes between us!!! The best team I have is with Ashley Young, he just gives me the ball the time I need it. Carew has really helped me imrpove my passes, or at least he is there when I give him the ball :P Did you notice any newcomer in the team above? I get to have a great teamwork with him too :)
Stats on the left are goals, on the right you get to see the assists. And no, this article is not sponsored by SONY, it's just my beloved my 40'' Z4500 model :P
I would also be very happy to answer to any questions you may have and suggest you with some general tips if you like, regarding Become A Legend mode :)
