Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Guide | How to Use Aurora Ticket and Mystic Ticket

If you want to use the Aurora Ticket and Mystic Ticket in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, you first need to beat the Elite Four and enter the Hall of Fame. After that, both tickets are automatically added to your bag. That sounds like enough at first, but it still does not let you visit Birth Island or Naval Rock right away.

You must first help Celio and get the Ruby. This unlocks the Rainbow Pass, which is the key step that lets the special islands appear later.

Go to One Island and Speak to Celio

Head to One Island and visit Celio. He talks about needing a special gemstone. That gemstone is the Ruby, and it is found at Mt. Ember. This part is very simple. There are a few Team Rocket Grunts on the way, but nothing here is too difficult.

It's helpful to use Max Repel before heading out. That makes the trip much smoother and saves time as you move through the area.

How to Reach the Ruby in Mt. Ember

Leave the Pokémon Center and move toward Kindle Road. Surf north to Mt. Ember. This is the same general area used for Moltres, but this time you need to go in a different direction. Instead of going left, go right at the correct spot.

You will find two Team Rocket Grunts talking about treasure. Beat both of them, and then enter Mt. Ember. Inside, there are rocks and boulders, but you do not need Rock Smash for the Ruby. You only need to move the Strength boulders in the correct way and continue through the short puzzle path.

How to Get the Ruby and Rainbow Pass

After the boulder puzzles, enter the chamber at the end. Ruby is inside. Pick it up, then leave the area by using Dig or an Escape Rope if needed. After that, return to One Island and give the Ruby to Celio.

Once he places it in the machine, you receive the Rainbow Pass. You also unlock an extra page on the Town Map. This provides access to more islands, which is the next step in the process.

How to Unlock Birth Island and Naval Rock

After getting the Rainbow Pass, go back to the ferry. At first, the special islands still will not appear. To fix that, return to Vermilion City and speak to the sailor again. He will recognize the Mystic Ticket and the Aurora Ticket. Once that happens, Naval Rock and Birth Island become available destinations.
