Red Dead Redemption Day #1

General by David_D on  May 27, 2010

My first impression of this game is that it is everything I expected it to be and more so far. I finally was able to sit down with this game and get acquainted with this highly anticipated game. I played for about 4-5 hourrs today and spent most of the time just doing a few missions and exploring just a small portion of the vast area that is the game. Helped some people, broke some wild horses, looted some dead bodies, killed and skinned some animals to sell off for money and just in general had a great time. Very authentic game with controls that I love very much. Riding horseback, shooting, walking/running all are pulled off nicely which is a welcome relief after playing Resident Evil 5 last.

I am sad that I have to go to bed so early tonight because i have to be to work at 4:30 a.m. tomorrow since I really wanted to just keep playing it and not want to put it down. I even thought about just staying up all night playing it and then going to work but then the responsible side of me took over and I saved and turned off the game after finishing the mission that I was on. Since I will be able to get an early start on it tomorrow since I get out of work at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow from going in so early and that is the last time I have to be up that early for at least the rest of this week. I probably should have been in bed a few hours ago actually but I figured 5 hours of sleep or so would be a good compromise and that I can spend a lot more quality time with this game tomorrow since I've barely scratched the surface with it.

Oh and I can't remember which user off hand was wondering this, but I figured it out now that I have actually played the game. So when you killed those two "outlaws" chasing the single person and killed the two that were chasing the other and you lost "Honor" because of it. Well the reason why is because you should have killed the person they were chasing, since the two people that you killed were Marshals chasing after either an outlaw or an escaped prisoner so basically what you did wrong was kill 2 Officers of the Law and let the bad guy get away, so good job! :P The reason I know is because I did the same thing... but then when I looted the bodies I saw they had badges pinned to their chests... OOPS!! Oh well, life goes on... well not theirs of course... but you get the idea. :P Have a great night everyone and I'll be back tomorrow for a pass through the forums and then right back to losing myself into this amazing game that I have waited so long for. It's times like these that I really love being a gamer. Just sitting down with your favorite type of game and just absolutely loving every minute of it. Doesn't matter what the game is since it's different for everyone, but when this happens then that is what gaming is all about as far as I am concerned. :)
