Resident Evil 7 Recaptures The Tension of P.T.
I haven't felt this excited for a horror game since P.T.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard was just announced, and now gamers with a PlayStation Plus account can try the game right now. Instead of maintaining the path set by Resident Evil 5 Capcom has decided to shift directions and return to the roots that made the franchise such as hit. It's possible for Resident Evil to deliver the horror experience fans of the genre have been clamoring for.
The atmosphere of Resident Evil 7 instantly invokes uneasy feelings of vexation and fear. Seeing the giant creature for the first time was frightening and interesting, I want to know who that is. The trailer sheds more light into the home of this person.
The Desolation trailer made reference some a woman, or maybe a girl. In one scene a small female impaled Pete, a former reporter turned reality horror story host, in the trailer with her arm. It's sick, brutal, and very bloody. Coupled with the tension ofexploring a twisted house and the stage is perfectly for an excellent survival horror game.
What had me disappointed was the story. Basically a cliché, a group of people get in over their head after tempting fate. This time it's three people looking for new material for their show, so they decide to look into the disappearance of the Baker family. As Clancy, the cameraman, you're sucked into this nightmare.
Classic survival-horror tropes such as basic puzzles and collecting small tickets actually amplified the experience. I never felt distracted to accomplish something else, instead all my focus went into what I would expect next. Sacrificing so much mental energy not to be scare makes exploration the next room all the more exciting.
Like P.T. I was on edge while playing Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. That tension of exploring the unknown while being hunted and avoiding demonic creatures that were somehow human once. P.T. isn't coming out and now Allison Road has been cancelled, I hope that Resident Evil 7 can satisfy this desire for an excellent survival-horror game. Judging from the demo it's exactly what many of us have been waiting for.
