Review In Progress: Guild Wars 2 - Two Weeks In Tyria
It’s been another hectic week in the world of Tyria.

It’s been another hectic week in the world of Tyria. Guild Wars 2 is enormous; I found that out by trying to quickly scope out an entirely new world. I have less doubt as I move forward that this game won’t have enough for anyone to get their money’s worth. There are hundreds, probably thousands of events and areas and little villages and more. It’s all quite breathtaking. Now that the game is starting to round itself out into a routine to the top, I also dipped into the World vs World element that pits players against ginormous teams of other players in their own dedicated worlds. I feel that this portion, even if it’s definitely not the type for me, is the perfect transition for players that want to play a Player vs Player experience, but feel insecure going it alone. It’s a lot more like multiplayer battles in popular competitive games, but with a lot more players and a lot more grounds.
The story is also evolving and new plotlines get revealed, quests get more elaborate and so on. It’s been a good week in Tyria and while this week’s recap won’t show a lot of new things, there were definitely enough elements to warrant progress. More so, I feel as more of the world opens up, my interests have flared back to my original amazement at the world. I wouldn’t advise trying to cope with every new world in its full state, as I tried to do before. Rather, taste a few new environments here and there as you proceed to the next point and stick around if you enjoy it. You can also watch a few hours of live streaming here.
