Review: Warp
Review by LMGstrings on Mar 10, 2012
Warp has you play a small alien that has to escape a scientific facility that has been holding you for tests.
You have several powers at your disposal for getting through each level from being able to warp through walls and into enemies allowing you to destroy them from the inside into a bloody mess. As you progress through the levels you will come across other aliens that you can eat to upgrade your powers. Located inside the levels are timed challenges that get progressively harder as your proceed resulting in having to make very good use of all your powers.
Although a well made game the powers and basic mechanic to get through the levels does get a little tedious because it is repeated throughout every level. The targeting system can be off at times resulting in a failed challenge or a death as it only takes one hit to kill you.
Visually it is a good looking game using cartoony graphics with short loading times. Not much replay value other than going through and getting missed upgrades or completing challenges.
Unfortunately there is no online multiplayer or coop but there are leaderboards to post your times from the challenges. Overall, it is fairly easy to look past its faults and enjoy a challenging but rewarding game.
