The Infinity Ward Case: Court Date Set
Games by Grayshadow on Apr 10, 2012
Remember when Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella were fired from Activision, joined EA, and since then have been fighting one another in legal battles since 2010. A court date has been set for May 29 for those wondering who will come out victorious.
The founders of Infinity Ward are expecting $75 - $125 million in unpaid royalties and the rights to the Modern Warfare brand. Activision is counter-suing in response for EA for allegedly stealing former Infinity Ward employees and that secret meetings between Zampella and West were taking place while they were under contract for Activision. However one of the claims filed by Zempella and West was dismissed in March by a state superior court judge, Elihu Berle.
Both Zampella and West were fired because of these meetings in 2010. They then founded Respawn Entertainment with EA and now employ 40 former Infinity Ward Employees. Either way, someone is about to receive a large check.
