Despite its high expectation Google Stadia had a disappointing launch with only a handful of games and just a few of the long-listed features. While many features are still processing to be improved, Google has announced to improve Stadia’s library by adding more games to it. Now that Google will release a great variety of games on Stadia, let’s check out the top five games coming this year.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world tale of action adventure set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with strength, glamor, and modification of the body. Anyone can personalize the Cyberware, skillset, and play style of their characters.

Though the game was about to launch this year, in April it was delayed to September.

SteamWorld Franchise

Google Stadia’s next set of games is one of the best since it’s all about the Image & Form SteamWorld series.

It includes SteamWorld dig, SteamWorld Dig 2, SteamWorld Heist, and SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamesh. They sound almost similar but these are very different games in the same robot universe of steampunk. SteamWorld Dig and SteamWorld Dig 2 are 2D Metroidvania-style action platformers where players have to dig and create their own paths with their trusty pickaxe. SteamWorld Heist is mainly a tactical game, focused on turns. SteamWorld Quest is a card-based RPG set in a stereotypical high-fantasy world. SteamWorld Dig 2 and SteamWorld Quest will be available via Stadia pro and all four games will be on the Stadia store soon.

Doom Eternal

Doom Eternal by Id Software has the best-looking shooters. It’s developed from the ground up for the low-level Vulkan graphics API, which potentially means it’s a match made in heaven for Google’s Stadia program that focuses on Linux and Vulkan because of its technology backbone.

Doom Eternal’s console success is already a big achievement and that applies to Stadia as well. The actual performance level on the hardware side always sticks to 60fps which helps to give it a good baseline on which to operate.

Set eight months after Doom 2016, the apocalyptic invasion has invaded about 60 percent on earth. It’s mainly up to your itchy trigger finger to help turn the tide with the powerless Earth Military.

Baldur’s Gate 3

The expected Baldur’s Gate 3 can be released this year. This is the first time that a release window has been attached to BG3 since it was revealed by Larian Studios in June last year ahead of E3 2019.

Meanwhile, Larian Studio was swift to issue a response, though the uncertainty over the release date of BG3 could not really be explained.

Previously, Larian Studios said on 27 February it would announce something about Baldur’s Gate 3. Maybe the developer expected a big reveal of the game's release date, but Google Stadia jumped the gun and included the game in its latest blog post.

Marvel’s Avengers

It looks like the Marvel Avengers game from Square Enix is heading over to Google Stadia. A game ad placed in front of the official unveiling of the title at E3 displays Stadia branding alongside the logos of PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Marvel’s Avengers is an action-adventure third-person game that incorporates an original, immersive story with one-player and cooperative play.
