2017 is halfway done and while we've seen some disappointing games this year we've also had some amazing titles. Games that still remain one of the best experiences of this year and continue to generate support for those late to the party. Here are the top five best games of 2017 so far.

Since the release of Resident Evil 4, the Resident Evil franchise took a turn for the worst. Sacrificing the survival-horror gameplay for heavy action sequences and quick-time events. The Revelations series successfully recaptured the survival-horror experience that fans were demanding but we still wanted more. Resident Evil 7 introduced a brand new setting and perspective inspired by the indie-hit Outlast, it was amazing. The new antagonist, The Baker family, each had their own personas that bled into the gameplay introducing new gameplay mechanics based on their behavior. It was Resident Evil, back with a bang.

Injustice 2,NetherRealms,NoobFeed,

Injustice: Gods Among Us did something that was unexpected from fighting games, its campaign was good. The story mode helped train players in the game's combat system but delivering a fantastic Justice League-like movie. Injustice 2 does more of this, giving players another fantastic campaign that could've easily been a brand new Justice League movie. Best of all NetherRealms supplemented the multiplayer portion of the game with clans, optional customizable items, and a myriad of competitive online options to choose from. It was everything that made the first game great and more.

Little Nightmares,Namco Bandai,NoobFeed,

What Little Nightmares lacked in content it made up in charm and creativity. Journeying through The Maw as Six was an unforgettable adventure that won over gamers. Each new portion of the game introduced new challenges and horrible monsters to escape. It was a short adventure but one that continues to remain in the minds of everyone who played it.

Nier,Automata,noobfeed,platinum games,

NieR: Automata has some of the best combat since Metal Gear: Revengeance. Each battle feels an artistic ballet of swords and machine parts. With an array of powerful, and unique bosses, to kill NieR is constantly offering new enemies to fight, combos to learn, and abilities and weapons to customize. And this is just gameplay, the story is a rollercoaster ride of emotional tales. NieR's story is one of the most bizarre and heartbreaking journies this year. Dealing with sensitive issues such as death, purpose, and existence 2B will learn that the war between humanity and the alien machines that now inhabit the Earth is much more complicated. With multiple endings you can expect to spend hours playing, but considering how fun the combat is you won't be complaining.

Horizon Zero Dawn,NoobFeed,Guerrilla Games,

Horizon Zero Dawn is the best reason to buy a PlayStation 4. Before it was Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which is also a fantastic game, but Horizon Zero Dawn blew expectations. Coming from Guerrilla Games, known for Killzone, this first attempt at a third-person action adventure game succeeded in every category. Gameplay, story, writing, basically it's difficult to find something bad about this game.
