Nintendo has some of the greatest first-party games. Mario, Star Fox, Metroid, and of course The Legend of Zelda. One of the most highly anticipated games of this year is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, so much so that people are willing to spend an additional $300 for a new console just to play the best version of the game. The Legend of Zelda franchise has a massive collection of titles, but what are the best games in this highly-acclaimed franchise?

It's still hard to believe that this was a SNES game. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past set new standards of what an action-adventure game should include. With a lengthy adventure that allowed the player to travel to not only different locations but a Dark World made this adventure endless entertaining and full of new experiences. It wasn't like any other game on the SNES.

The Legend of Zelda,The Minish Cap,NoobFeed,Nintendo,

Seems strange to include The Minish Cap as one of the best The Legend of Zelda games compared to others, considering it was predominantly well received. What made this game truly amazing was that I was addicted from start to finish. The charming environments and robust color palette had me playing through the entire adventure in one go. It was a short journey but the quality of that adventure easily dismissed that issue.

The Legend of Zelda,Ocarina of Time,NoobFeed,Nintendo,

It's hard to deny that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remains one of the most influential games ever made. The first time gamers got to control not only Link in a 3D environment but an older version of the hero made this experience that more exciting. Best of all it was a fully-fledged 3D world teeming with optional quests and some of the best boss battles I've ever fought in the franchise. It encouraged creative thinking thanks to challenging puzzles, with the exception of the Water Temple which was bullsh*t! Thankfully you don't need an N64 to play and can pick up this acclaimed game for the 3DS, with remastered graphics!

The Legend of Zelda,Twilight Princess,NoobFeed,Nintendo,

The realistic The Legend of Zelda game that many of us have been demanding since The SpaceWorld 2000 Tech Demo was finally a reality. Taking on a much darker tone than other The Legend of Zelda games Link gains the ability to transform into a wolf and travel to the Twilight. The world was full of monsters and the remnants of Hyrule; people crying in dispair unable to grasp what was happening. The new tone was widely praised and provided gamers with a more mature experience of The Legend of Zelda franchise. Best of all it has the best final boss battle in not only the entire franchise but perhaps video games in general.

The Legend of Zelda,The Wind Waker,NoobFeed,Nintendo,

What made The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker my favorite game in the series was my disappointment when it was announced. Like many, I felt betrayed when Nintendo announced this game instead of the realistic Zelda that many were hoping for. It took me years before I decided to try The Wind Waker and it blew me away. The cartoonish style only amplified the experience and traveling through the sea as all manner of hostile enemies, new locations, and hidden treasures sprouted up kept me searching for days. This was the first Zelda game I obsessed over and tried to complete every objective. It remains the most fun I every had with this franchise.
