What Amiibos We Want Released in 2016

Nintendo’s amiibo have become a phenomenal success. Many have rushed into stores to collect this tiny DLC pieces, including myself. It’s hard to ignore the allure of purchasing these notorious characters, and with the new year almost here we cannot help but feel that certain characters have been ignored. Cloud and Bayonetta amiibos are on the way but here are some we would like to see come to existence in 2016.

5. Star Fox Team

With the exception of Slippy Toad who wouldn’t want the rest of Star Fox as amiibo? Fox and Falco are already available, all that’s needed to complete the team is Krystal and Peppy, perhaps inside their signature Arwing.

4. Ganon

Ganondorf's original pig form Ganon should get an amiibo. What better way to pay homage to one of the greatest villains in video game history than showcasing their original form, the best one being from The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.

3. Super Sonic

We’ve had a Gold Mario and now a Gold Mega Man variant, but what about a character who is actual gold? If Sega and Nintendo do decide to give Sonic his iconic gold treatment we can hope that they decide to choose one of the Sonic models from Sonic Generations and not Sonic Boom.

2. Ridley

We all want a new Metroid game, but a new amiibo will do. What character is more iconic than Samus andMetroids, Ridley of course. The giant purple dragon is one of the most popular, and repeated, boss fights in the franchise. Let’s see him in glorious amiibo fashion!

1. Original Final Fantasy Cast

If it wasn’t for Final Fantasy Square Enix wouldn’t exist. The first game that would eventually become a franchise was released on the NES and featured the first set of legendary heroes. We’ve already seen the entire cast of Animal Crossing get amiibonized, and Cloud is up most likely. Why not give the original cast the same treatment?
