WTF, FRC?

Surprise, kids! The Family Research Council has attacked BioWare’s Star Wars MMO, The Old Republic. The infamous advocacy group claims the online game promotes a “Star Warped way of thinking” due to Bioware's plans to include same-sex romance options for players.

This is not the first time the group has said something stupid. You may recall the FRC issuing statements that equated gay marriage to bestiality and counterfeiting. This is, however, startling in that the FRC equated homosexuals to Sith, who’re often portrayed as unabashedly wicked.

Disagreeing with others is one thing, but equating them to megalomaniacs and child-murderers is entirely fucking different. Homosexuality is not a strictly moral issue; it’s a socioethical issue. LGBTQ men and women deserve the same rights as everyone—No, don’t get cute and say, “But they do have those rights! They can marry heterosexually!” That’s obviously not what anyone has ever meant in saying homosexuals should have the right to marry.

BioWare should be applauded for “[going] to the dark side.”
