Xbox One Games That Would Have Been Better With Sony
Looking at Sony’s Track Record, They Care More. Simply Said.

Time and time again we see amazing Playstation exclusives that far outmatched anything that the Xbox team sends out, and there could be many reasons for this, perhaps it could be the developer’s Sony has under its belt, connections and better deals on their store. Or perhaps Sony cares just a bit more, a special paintbrush runs over all of there exclusives to make them feel a lot more special, and a lot more like art than a product. Even though it is still a product to spend money on, there is a lot more attachment to exclusives like God of War and Persona 5, I know some people who live and breathe Last of Us. So the easy conclusions I come to is that Sony simply cares more, so what would some of these Xbox exclusives look like under the belt of Sony? And would they be any better with the funding of Sony and the certain arms-length attitude that they have decided to take on, with little to no demands?
At this point, the name Scalebound means very little, this is because 3 years ago it was cancelled and of course no one pointed any fingers, but all clues lead to a team of corporate higher-up from Microsoft cancelling the game, even after the developers Platnaium, had lots of it done, including the story and gameplay, trailers are still floating around that shows a very amazing game. So the question remains why wasn’t it a PS4 exclusive in the first place? After all, Platinum has always had a close relationship with Sony, and if it was maybe it could have been released, after all, Sony has allowed developers more time for them to finish the game, one only needs to look at the many delays of The Last of Us Part 2. So perhaps if Platinum had made a deal with Sony instead of Microsoft, we would have seen a full realization of this game that otherwise we never got. Another game that I think would have done better with Sony is Sea of Thieves, an open-world pirate multiplayer game. This game reviewed poorly, especially on Metacritic. The primary negative comment is a large world with very little to do. On the other hand, with Sony, we have open-world games like Spider-man, Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone. All open world games with very interesting things to do, in Spider-man you have lots of different criminals to take down and getting there with your web-slings is very enjoyable, in Zero Dawn we have lots of different things to discover in a dead world that’s been forgotten. These open-world games have plenty to do so perhaps if Sea of Thieves was with Sony it could have been a lot more enjoyable with a fun pirate adventure.
Sony and Microsoft are very different in the way they develop games, the only successful exclusives that come from Xbox that are well-reviewed are Gears of War and Halo, and maybe that can be placed at the hands of nostalgia. But with Sony we see new series coming out of them every year, not afraid to take risks. Perhaps Xbox is too scared to take as many risks as Sony, or maybe Microsoft is just not invested as much in exclusives as Sony is, realising most of their games on PC anyway. So with that confidence, I believe some of these Xbox exclusives could have done better with Sony, and maybe only because they care a little more. But in the future, I imagine we will be seeing a lot of Xbox only games, but time will tell if they’ll be any good.
