PDXcon 2017 is underway and announcements have started pouring in. One of them is that Paradox Interactive have teamed up with Harebrained Schemes to publish their next title, Battletech. The game will center around turn-based mech combat, channeling Harebrained Schemes experience with this type of battles, as shown in the developers Shadowrun Returns series. No exact launch date was given, as of now, but a new trailer popped up showcasing both artwork and in-game footage. On top of that, the latest Kickstarter update announces that a Backer Beta will begin on the 1st of June.
A DRM-free version of the game will also be available on GOG.com. You can find more info here. Jordan Weisman, the original Battletech/MechWarrior creator, is on board alongside the Harebrained Schemes team, so we're definitely looking forward to seeing how the title will pan out in the end. If you haven't given Shadowrun a chance, you can find links to our reviews of the latest 2 games in the series below.
