E3 2022 Completely Cancelled, No Digital Event Planned

E3 2021 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and went fully digital but this year E3 2022 has been completely canceled.

Just got an email... It's official, E3 digital is official cancelled for 2022. Lots of mixed feelings about this...

The news broke through a tweet from Razer PR Will Powers with IGN also verifying the event's cancelation. IGN did state the ESA is planning to bring back the event in 2023 with plans being made to reinvigorate the waning event. Which has been on the decline for years due to the expensive cost and cheaper alternatives such as direct livestreaming.

"We will devote all our energy and resources to delivering a revitalized physical and digital E3 experience next summer. Whether enjoyed from the show floor or your favorite devices, the 2023 showcase will bring the community, media, and industry back together in an all-new format and interactive experience.

Despite the cancelation expect livestreams during the same period. As publishers use the Summer to announce upcoming releases for the holiday season.
