Despite the poor reputation of crowdfunded video games through Kickstarter some games have released to popular acclaim from their audience. Friday the 13th: The Game was one of these rare projects and it has earned its place in the Guinness World Record as the "The Most Crowdfunded Video Game Based on a Movie".

The game was funded through Kickstarter and Backerkit, raising $2,060,651. After raising the money exclusive variations of Jason, Counselor clothing and other special content were given to backers based on their donation tier.
Currently, the game does face longevity issues but the developers have promised to support the game with content and updates. The next update is set to include smaller versions of Higgins, Packanack, and Crystal Lake.
Friday the 13th: The Game is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
