Google may have shut down their internal studios for Stadia, but that doesn’t mean they won’t have strong third party support.

A recent blog post from the Google Stadia team has verified that over 100 games will be coming to the platform this year.

Among heavy hitters such as FarCry 6 and Fifa 2021, there are many independent games on the list like Kaze And The Wild Masks and the timed exclusive Hello Engineer.

The team had this to say about the announcement:

"These games represent just a sampling of the more than 100 games that will be added to the Stadia store for our players in 2021 to share, experience, and play with friends."

It’ll be interesting to see whether Stadia will be profitable for Google in the near future - whether cloud gaming is something enough gamers are interested in.

It’s worth noting that the aforementioned list doesn’t contain any exclusive titles other than Hello Engineer being a timed exclusive.

As such, everything rides on the adoption of cloud gaming as a platform, which is also something Microsoft is exploring with Xcloud and Xbox Game Pass integration.

Amazon has also cast their hat into the ring with Luna: a service very similar to Stadia.

Google offers a free trial for Stadia, after which a subscription is £8.99 in the U.K, $9.99 in the U.S., and €9.99 in Europe.
