Monster Hunter Rise reaches new sales milestone
News by Grayshadow on Jan 18, 2022
Monster Hunter Rise was a smash hit on Switch and just launched on PC. Capcom has confirmed the game has sold over 8 million units as of now.
This is up from October 2021 and considering the title was only available on Switch this is an insane achievement. It's likely that the massive surge in sales is due to the enormous achievement of Monster Hunter World which brought the franchise to more gamers and made more people aware of this IP. For many, Monster Hunter World was the first game they played in this series despite being a long-running franchise from Capcom. This success has pushed the franchise to 78 million units sold.
Monster Hunter Rise was released for Steam, a PC platform with a broad global user base, on January 13, 2022*. Featuring high-resolution 4K support and voice chat functionality for PC, the game provided a fresh hunting experience that garnered praise from players while additionally growing the player base across a wide range of countries and regions. This, combined with sales of the Nintendo Switch version that was released in March 2021, drove global shipments of the game to surpass 8 million units.*Japan Standard Time
Monster Hunter Rise is now available for PC and Switch.
