Rocket League Developer Removing Loot Boxes
Psyonix's Rocket League won't feature loot boxes
News by Grayshadow on Aug 07, 2019
Released in 2015, Rocket League still remains one of the most popular multiplayer games available. Over the years, events, special cosmetics, and new competitive changes have kept the gameplay fresh. However, one of the more negativity received additions was the loot boxes. Now, Psyonix is removing loot boxes for direct-purchases.
Developer Psyonix confirmed in a blog post that Rocket League will “remove all paid, randomized Crates” from the game in an effort to create “the best possible experience for our players all over the world.” Instead, gamers can purchase items directly.
It seems that after being acquired by Epic Games, Psyonix is going to mimic the Fortnite system. Allowing direct purchases but in Fortnite these purchases are in rotation.
Rocket League is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux.
