With Stellar Blade's Massive success with the new PC Port release, Shift Up has a gift for both PS5 and PC Players. The new patch contains new quality-of-life features, outfits, and a new boss. It doesn't matter if you've been playing Stellar Blade for a long time or if you're a newcomer. This update is packed with new features. Here is a breakdown of everything you need to know.

Starting off by getting the Crimson Wings outfit for free. This goes for both PS5 and PC Stellar Blade players. It's already in your inventory when you start the game, so you don't have to redeem it or look for it in menus. With its flashy red outfit, Eve's already stylish wardrobe gets a new look that sets the tone for the rest of the outfit changes.

PC players also receive extras, such as uncapped frame rates and support for ultra-wide screens, but console players aren't left out. A number of improvements have been made to both platforms.

Full custom control schemes are one of the most important new features in this update. If you wish, you can now modify the way any action works, including minor ones like fishing. Voiceovers in Japanese are now available around the world, and simplified Chinese has been added to make the game easier for more people to play.

The most important free addition? A new boss named Mann. When you beat him, you can wear the Royal Guard outfit, which is probably the most stylish outfit in the game. The outfit is based on the royal guards you face in the story. It has cybernetic arms, bright red accents, and a cloak that looks like a hologram that is different from Eve's other nanosuits.

But don't think it will be easy to get away with. Mann is not easy to get along with. Bring your best game because he's made to challenge even the best players. There are tips on how to knock him down later in the video that the transcript came from, but he is worth the work.

Along with the free update, a $10 DLC called Stellar Blade x Goddess of Victory - Nikke DLC was released in collaboration with Nikke. It has a lot of bonus content. What's in it:

  • Six new outfits
  • Several new hairstyles
  • A full side quest
  • A new battle scenario
  • A hidden boss fight

First, go to the Wastelands and look for the new quest marker. You'll meet Scarlet and Vault, her robot dog, who also works as a shopkeeper. You can now start five "missing item" missions from this point. There are three in the Great Desert and two in the Wastelands. You can tell where Vault is by hearing him bark; just find the box drone and interact with it to begin.

Each mission isn't just a filler fetch quest. These parts make Stellar Blade into a third-person shooter with cover, similar to how Nikke is played. As you kill waves of enemies, you'll have to aim, fire, and hop from cover to cover. When you beat the last enemy, you get the missing item and money that you can spend at Vault's shop.

You don't have to work too hard; once you finish all the missions, everything in the shop will be unlocked. The first mission is pretty easy, but as you go on, they get harder.

A final cutscene will play after you finish all five item missions and buy everything in the Vault's shop. The trip isn't quite over, though. In the challenge arena, Scarlet will become a boss that you can fight.

Your reflexes will be put to the test in this fight. Scarlet fights with a Katana, moves very quickly, and executes long, powerful combos. Even more chaos happens in her second phase, but beating her lets you:

  • A new outfit
  • A new haircut
  • Three brand-new songs
  • The experience and the beautiful, one-of-a-kind boss arena are worth seeing even if you don't beat her.

Beyond the games, this update is a fashionista's dream. Just the new hairstyles are enough to make me want the DLC. Some highlights are:

  • Noble Elegant is a dramatic style with long waves.
  • Looks with a Military Beret: Two stylish choices that go with Eve's more tactical outfits.

The outfits are another thing. Some of the DLC's fan favorites are:

  • Elegant Dress is a stylish and classy addition.
  • The cool suit is bright and pink.
  • Missing Link: Wings and a tail made of metal give it a lot of style.
  • Ellesion Combat Uniform: A fierce outfit ready for battle with a leather jacket and two bandoliers. Eve looks like she could be the lead in a sci-fi war movie.

Fans of Photo Mode will also be pleased, as Stellar Blade Photo Mode now has new poses and expressions of Eve to show off all of these new features in style.

Even more free outfits have been added to Shift Up, but you'll have to earn them. These can't be seen until you play New Game++ a third time. If you're not already a completionist, you might have to read the story all over again to find them.

The Royal Guard outfit, which you get by beating Man, is the crown jewel. The reward is one of the most unique looks in the game, but the fight is hard.

With this update, you have every reason to play Stellar Blade again, whether it's your first time on PC or your second time on PS5. It's by far the biggest update Shift Up has ever put out, with new boss fights, stylish cosmetics, improved control options, and even a whole new shooter mode.

This patch makes Stellar Blade even better, making it one of the most stylish and surprisingly deep action games of the year. Both the free and paid content feel substantial and worthwhile.
