Toy Story Update For Disney Dreamlight Valley Releases December 6

On December 6th Buzz Lightyear and Woody will be joining Disney Dreamlight Valley as part of the game's Toy Story update. There will be a new world styled after their owner Andy's bedroom and a new adventure for players to embark on. 

Disney Dreamlight Valley is an adventurous life sim in which players rebuild Dreamlight Valley, a paradise that many beloved Disney and Pixar characters call home. One day dangerous Night Thorns "grew across the land and severed the wonderful memories tied to" Dreamlight Valley in an event known as the Forgetting. Exploring the world, players will befriend their favorite Disney and Pixar characters and restore their home to its former greatness. Familiar Disney and Pixar characters that the player will meet include Ursula the sea witch, the world's richest waterfowl Scrooge McDuck, WALL.E, and (of course) Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

 

Disney Dreamlight Valley has been in Early Access since August 2022 and is looking to release Free-to-Play in 2023. The game's first update was in October and added The Lion King villain Scar and a quest "to bring the Sunlit Plateau back to a green and vibrant state." The upcoming Toy Story update will likely follow a similar path. There will be new Toy Story-related cosmetics and decorations as well as a new area and popular characters to interact. This isn't the first time that a Toy Story world has appeared as a part of a larger crossover game. Back in Square Enix's 2019 action RPG Kingdom Hearts 3 Woody and Buzz help Sora and co. defeat the Heartless in the level Toy Box, likewise, Toy Story also appeared in the collectible toys-to-life action sandbox game Disney Infinity.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is currently in Early Access on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, and the full game will release in 2023.
