AFL 2006 is a great game if you don't know about Australian Football and rules, you more than likely find the game boring and confusing and find it bad.
The game has 2 main modes, season and career the only difference is career mode you can play season after season and edit your players and draft. but Besides that excatly the same
The game play in general is quite easy. the camera angle and moving after the mark makes for it to be confusing which way to go which could have been alot better and you lose track of the football. Also finding how hard to kick the back to a team mate difficult
The commentry is surpurb using real commentators and sideline reporters the commentry even funny at times talking about over priced pies etc. the kits and stadiums are very accurate and cut sceens are not bad either and can hear your team song playing when you win a game
Another bad thing i found is that the players look alot like each other you cant pick our your favourite or the star of the team. Gamplay is limited and repetitive and playing the game can come a bit tough espically coming to marks takes a while to get used to it and the opposition always grab the pill and general kicks is daunting.
Alot of true Australian Football League fans (AFL) have said the game does not translate well into video games and i tend to agree.
But overall its a pretty good game for any Australian, if you know nothing about the game i would think twice.
my 3 stars
3 - gameplay marking, kicking espically
2 - not many modes, repetitive
1 - cutsceeens, commetry and stadiums and kits
