Fallout 3: Point Lookout

Point Lookout takes you on a boat trip down to Point Lookout taking you on an experience of what has happened to the south.  Where Broken Steel mainly had you going through the wasteland and a few extra areas Point Lookout gives you a whole new area to explore and complete quests in. The main questline has you helping a ghoul get revenge on an old rival of his.  And that's essentially it.

Point lookout offers another few hours of exploring another large empty place.  While there are some laughs to be had in point lookout and it is probably the most enjoyable DLC for Fallout 3 I can't help but feel I've played enough.  Fallout 3 has begun to feel much like a chore to go through and doesn't offer much incentive to continue at all.  By the time I was done with Point Lookout...I was done completely.  I may pick up Fallout 3 sometime farther down the line but for now I'm tired of Fallout 3.  Point lookout was great but only offered a little bit of incentive for me to continue playing.  And once the main quest line for that was done I didn't feel like continuing at all.

One thing that stood out however with Point Lookout was how well it ran compared to Fallout 3 and Broken Steel.  Fallout 3 and Broken Steel both had issues with freezing games as well as a terrible frame rate.  While Point Lookout did have a couple times where frame rate took a slight drop it wasn't nearly as bad as before.  Point Lookout never froze on me and the frame rate held up for about 98% of the time i played it.  This went a long way in helping me enjoy it more.  Fallout 3 was fun while it lasted but it didn't take long until it just got boring.  Fallout 3 fans should definitely pick up the DLC, but only if you really want more of the same.  Otherwise I'd advise you stay far away from it.
