Independent developer Daedalic Entertainment picked up an award for “Best German Game” at the German Computer Games Awards in Berlin this year. This marks the fifth time the event was held.

Daedalic won the effort for their game, Chaos on Deponia, which is the second installment in their Deponia point and click adventure trilogy.  They operate from Hamburg in Germany, where they not only produce the critically acclaimed Deponia series, but are also working on a series of other adventures. In recent times, the developer has announced puzzle games like The Night of the Rabbit and Memoria. They’ll also step out of their comfort zone with the creation of an RPG titled Blackguards.

Publisher dreamfab, another German company, picked up “Best Mobile Game” for the iOS title Word Wonders: The Tower of Babel. In this game, players challenge tower guardians to a duel of wits with a word puzzle game. By forming words on a panel, players can perform spells and such. It’s a mini-game driven RPG in lines of Puzzle Quest. Word Wonders is currently on Steam Greenlight.
