Daedalic Adventure Fire Shows First Trailer
Fire is all about fire, who knew?
News by Daavpuke on Aug 15, 2014
Publisher Daedalic Entertainment has released the first footage for Fire, its upcoming PC adventure that features Ungh the Neanderthal. It mostly shows the cartoon animation style of the game.
Other parts shown in the Fire clip are transformations. Ungh somehow poofs into a mouse, a bee and a sloth. There’s some breakdancing involved with what looks like a tribesman with neck rings. And what’s with the eyes atop Ungh’s head? Is there a little creature there controlling the caveman?
As the title suggests, Fire is all about finding a flame. When Ungh messes up and lets the fire of their tribe run out, they’re tasked with finding a new one. Since this is the Stone Age, it’s not as easy to get new flames. That’s the premise for an explorative adventure. Fire will use a day and night cycle to implement the importance of lighting. Depending on the time of day, players will also meet different creatures and situations, which are specific to that period.

Another part Fire wants to distinguish itself in is that it uses only visual cues, instead of text or dialog. It does have thought balloons, which is used in other adventures, such as Machinarium.
Fire is planned for the end of 2014. It’s only one of several projects currently under Daedalic’s watch. They’re also working on Blackguards 2 and adventure titles Anna’s Quest, Randal’s Monday, The Devil’s Men and Silence: The Whispered World 2. This is one company that likes to spread its portfolio. Daedalic already is known for a wide variety of point-and-click titles, such as the Deponia series.
