Fable Legends is Going to be Free-to-Play
Fable Legends is going to be free-to-play for the Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One

The Fable series has gone through a lot of changes throughout its run. It's one of the few franchises that simultaneously manage to please and alienate their audience all at the same time. However, this new entry in the Fable legacy may be the right step, for their newest multiplayer game is going to be free-to-play on the Xbox One and on Windows 10 PCs.

Fable Legends is 100 percent different from the original Fable series by being a multiplayer game, with one player controlling all the monsters in the dungeon, and the other players trying to combat it. The best way to think of it is a smaller scaled version of Dungeons and Dragons, with one dungeon master and 4 characters to go up against whatever the dungeon master comes up with. You can play it single-player and have AI partners, but judging from how AI partners can act in many games, it might be best to just stick with multiplayer.
Like many free-to-play games, there will be things that the player can only buy for real life money, via an in-game currency called gold. For the most part you can buy all of the items you need for silver, which is earned in game, but there are certain items that can only be bought with gold.
According to the website:
“Every Hero can also be customised, and we’ll have a host of interesting outfits, face variations and more available to unlock. A select few outfits are different, from the finest tailors and stylists in Albion they can only be bought with gold.”
It looks like other than a few outfits everything in the game can be earned without spending too much real money, but things can always change in development so we’ll be keeping an eye on things to see how they develop.
