Developer The Voxel Agents brought their newest project, The Gardens Between, to our attention and it might be something worth looking into. This adventure puzzle game is set to release for PC on Steam in late 2017.
The game revolves around two kids, Arina and Frendt, who get whisked away to a magical world, where they’ll explore, solve puzzles and even mess around with time. Environments around them will be filled with objects from their past, projecting the history of their friendship. A small trailer for The Gardens Between can be seen below:
There’s something about clean, vibrant voxel styles that has a soothing allure to it. Additionally, The Gardens Between notes a slight hint of Bridge to Terabithia, a novel and film adaptation revolving around two children’s fantasy realm. Check out that movie, if you haven’t yet. What we’re saying is: These are both nice things. Nice things are nice. As an added bonus, some of the minimalist, linear art that combines with musical chimes has a distinct Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP feel. The good vibes keep adding up here.
