Surviving Mars: Space Race brings trade and rival colonies to the mix.

Surviving Mars: Space Race is the first DLC for Haemimont Games' and Paradox Interactive's colony simulation game. Announced today, Space Race introduces AI controlled colonies backed by rival sponsors with whom players must compete for Mars' resources. Trade will be possible as well as issuing and responding to distress calls, most likely whenever Mars decides to show its ugly side. Of course, if one of two colonists catches your eye, you can steal them as well. Japan and Brazil also enter the fray as brand new sponsors.
Each sponsor will receive an extra bit of personality with an unique vehicle, building and set of challenges that offer rewards upon completion. New narrative additions are also part of the package. Two smaller pieces of additional content are also coming alongside Space Race. The Colony Design Set lets you "deck out your dome with 25 new buildings to give a fresh look to your living, working, and playing quarters", while the Marsvision Song Contest brings a new radio station "featuring all the top pop songs from the sponsor countries who’ve set their sights on Mars." Yes, that does include J-Pop and Bollywood music. All are currently available for pre-order, individually or together in one package, and are included in the Season Pass and First Colony Edition. Check out our Surviving Mars review.
