1. One-hit Assassinations Are Gone

One of the biggest changes coming to Assassin's Creed Origins is the RPG leveling system. While other Assassin Creed games had adversaries who were stronger, faster, and could repel attacks. In Origins you and the enemies are given levels to determine strength, this means one-hit assassinations against higher level targets are impossible. If you do fail and attempt again your target will change the situation by either adding more guards or fleeing the scene completely. This means that preparation is much more important this time around.

2. 3 Branching Skill Trees and New Combat System

Bayek has 3 branching skill trees that include warrior for combat, the seer is for stealth, and hunter focuses on long-range attacks. Skills bleed into one another allowing for varied combinations. Each of Bayek's various talents complements the new combat system.

Origins has a hitbox system along will a more dynamic enemy combat system. Enemies will now attack in droves instead of waiting their turn. In addition, Bayek will have to parry and block instead of relying solely on counters to defeat foes. Using a combination of heavy and light attacks along with dodging and barrel rolling creates a much more interactive fighting system than previous games of the franchise.

Another new system called the paired animation system will cause enemies and combat to be dictated base on the player's input. This means that the AI will alter their tactics base on what style the player is using.

If you want to test your skills a Fighting Pits. Unlike previous Fight Clubs in other Assassin Creed games, these games are life and death where Bayek will tackle a series of difficult opponents and bosses for powerful loot.

3. Much More Varied Weapons

Taking inspiration from The Division enemies can drop weapons and armor for permanent use. Everything is color coded base on rarity. Weapon type also plays a major role for specific types of armaments working well in different situations. For example, use a sword against a crocodile you'll end as lunch but equip a mace and you'll be victorious.

4. One with the Eagle

Like Conner in the DLC campaign, The Tyranny of King Washington Bayek has an Eagle ability. Unlike Conner's talent, Bayek can summon an eagle for a birds-eye view of the land, tag enemies, and distract foes with a divebomb. However, your eagle friend isn't the only creature in Origins.

Like in Far Cry players can tame creatures, fight wildlife, and set animals free to attack their captors. This extends to riding specific creatures like Camels and Donkeys. These are only a few animals you'll meet in Origins that help bring Bayek's world to life.

5. No More Loading Screens or Minimap

The Assassin's Creed franchise is notorious for having long loading screens where you run through an empty void until the world appears. In Origins loading screens are gone in the open world, however not without taking away something else.

The Minimap is gone but waypoints are still visible for missions. This was implemented to encourage exploration both on land and underwater.

Assassin's Creed Origins launches on Xbox One, PS4, and PC October 27th.
