All Of The Beginner's Guide In One Screenshot

For those of you who haven’t heard about The Beginner’s Guide yet, here’s what you’ve been missing. The Beginner’s Guide is the follow-up project from developer Davey Wreden, who previously released The Stanley Parable to a storm of critical acclaim. This new game runs through several in-development titles from a certain person, with narration from Wreden attached to every step. And that’s about it. As actions speak louder than words, I was able to condense this experimental subject into just one screenshot, unedited from The Beginner’s Guide near two-hour run:
Including all the white space, that’s pretty much all there is to it. Anything else you’ll experience in The Beginner’s Guide is really up to the folly of Davey Wreden and not you; you’re just the instrument.
Regardless, The Beginner’s Guide is once more highly rated, as its 4,000 reviews on Steam show an 86% approval rate. Though, remarkably, the game has only sold about 70,000 units, according to Steamspy, versus the million copies The Stanley Parable was able to ship.
Maybe The Beginner’s Guide doesn’t have enough walking forward. Then again, it also has some walking backwards. Maybe that broke the mold. Spoiler.
