Allied Races Overview: Differences and Benefits

Whether you are Horde or Alliance, you have multiple variants of the allied races in Battle for Azeroth. Currently, there are ten announced:

- Alliance races: Void Elf, Mechagnome, Kul Tiran Human, Dark Iron Dwarf, and Lightforged Draenei.

- Horde races: Vulpera, Zandalari Troll, Mag'har Orc, Highmountain Tauren, and Nightborne.

Possibly, we’ll see more in the future. In the meantime, let’s talk about their unique emotes, mounts, and armor. Moreover, we’ll discuss allied races boost and its benefits.


Alliance Races

Alliance heroes can discover new allies by exploring faraway lands. Below are the races that can be recruited to your faction’s cause in-game.

Void Elf

Void elves have the ability to transform into a Void form (one of the most fundamental forces in existence). They can also transport you to the targeted location, reduce Shadow damage taken, and increase healing.

- Heritage armor: Ren'dorei Items

- Mount: Starcursed Voidstrider

- Racial traits: Spatial Rift, Chill of Night, Entropic Embrace, Ethereal Connection, Preternatural Cal

Mechagnome

Having gone through full mechanization, Mechagnomes are now reunited with their gnomish cousins. This one summons decoys for distraction opens locked chests and gets stronger the more you fight the enemy.

- Heritage Armor: Mechagnome Armor

- Mount: Mechagon Mechanostrider

Racial traits: Hyper Organic Light Originator, Combat Analysis, Master Craft, Re-Arm, Skeleton Pinkie

Kul Tiran Human

Kul Tiran Human can be an awesome druid with Drusts magic forms. They can increase versatility and trade skills, help hold breath longer and swim faster, and reduce Frost and Nature damage taken.

- Heritage armor: Kul Tiran Set

- Mount: Kul Tiran Charger

- Racial traits: Brush It Off, Child of the Sea, Haymaker, Jack of All TradesRime of the Ancient Mariner

Dark Iron Dwarf

Dark Iron Dwarf is known for quick temper - you can see that from the starting pet, Blazehound, with a unique appearance and fiery effects. They neutralize poison, magic, curses, bleeding, increase your blacksmithing skills, and move faster when indoors.

- Heritage armor: Dark Iron Heritage Armor

- Mount: Dark Iron Core Hound

- Racial traits: Dungeon Delver, Fireblood, Forged in Flames, Mass Production, Mole Machine

Lightforged Draenei

After infusing their bodies with Holy Light, they have been reborn with great abilities. The race deals with Holy damage increases experience gained reduces holy damage taken and makes the Light avenge you.

- Heritage armor: Lightforged Items

- Mount: Lightforged Felcrusher

- Racial traits: Holy Resistance, Demonbane, Forge of Light, Light's Reckoning, Light's Judgment


Horde Races

We also can’t leave aside the Horde allied races and, particularly, the new playable races.

Vulpera

The vulpera of Vol’dun is smart and resourceful, and its miniature stature shouldn’t be underestimated. The Vulpera tricks an enemy to damage them, teleports back to the camp location, takes less damage, and finds extra goods.

- Mount: Caravan Hyena

- Racial traits: Bag of Tricks, Rummage Your Bag, Make Camp, Return to Camp, Fire Resistance, Nose For Trouble

Zandalari Troll

The Zandalari are considered the finest specimen of all troll tribes that boast incredible strength. They get Shadow damage, healing for the damage done, increased movement speed, critical strike, and reduced falling speed.

- Heritage armor: Zandalari Armor

- Mount: Zandalari Direhorn

- Racial traits: Embrace the Loa, City of Gold, Regeneratin’, Pterrordax Swoop

Mag'har Orc

This species is centered around survival. Mag'har Orc invokes the spirits of ancestors, increases mounted speed, minimizes Poisons, Diseases, and Curses, and has a trait that increases pet health.

- Heritage armor: Mag'har Orc Heritage Armor (Blackrock, Frostwolf, and Warsong Recolor)

- Mount: Mag'har Direwolf

- Racial traits: Ancestral Call, Open Skies, Savage Blood, Sympathetic Vigor

Highmountain Tauren

The Highmountain Taurenlends get their nobility and strength as descendants of Huln, a brave hero of the War of the Ancients. This one has increased mining skill, speed, and versatility, reduced damage from upcoming attacks, and a chance to loot additional meat and fish.

- Heritage armor: Highmountain Items

- Mount: Highmountain Thunderhoof

- Racial traits: Bull Rush, Pride of Ironhorn, Mountaineer, Rugged Tenacity, Waste Not, Want Not

Nightborne

The nightborne are the night elves that owe much of their unique physical characteristics to their long dependence on the Nightwell. Nightborne deals Arcane damage shows increased Inscription skill and magical damage as well as reduced Arcane damage taken.

- Heritage armor: Shal'dorei Items, Dressing Room

- Mount: Nightborne Manasaber

- Racial traits: Cantrips, Ancient History, Magical Affinity, Arcane Resistance, Arcane Pulse


How to Have the Best Time with Allied Races

The Battle for Azeroth has prepared many interesting things for the players. But not everybody manages to access them, or they simply don’t have much time. If you’re dreaming of getting certain allied races unlocked, it’s very much a possibility.
