An Admin blog!

I know a lot of you are looking forward to a blog from me. But writing a blog has really become a ghostly object. Even though I manage to read other’s blog once in a while, I hardly find myself in a feel for writing one. Since December I’ve been seriously planning for this blog, today however, I’ve managed to take some time out and give you guys some updates.

Let’s start with some NoobFeed facts.

Ad Factor:

You must have noticed that we have installed google ads in our site. It might be a temporary thing or might not be. When we were trying to install the ads we got from our advertiser, it appeared that we have a major problem with our ad sizes. I should’ve predicted that there are only few standard sizes of ads available from the agenesis. So we couldn’t put up the ads we received from the agency. On the other hand we’ve already developed our ad panel. So we thought of testing them with the google ads. I hope it doesn’t bother you much. Though I can’t deny that the Social service ads in a gaming community site were giving me an itch. Please excuse the mighty google for its unknown conducts. We tried setting up the ad preferences but it doesn’t seem to be working accurate.

Social Network Icon:

I personally panicked when the rumor of closing down facebook was published. We also have some social network icons installed in our site’s footer or bottom whatever you call it. Don’t forget to follow us into those places if you have a virtual soul living there. And, in case if you are following us on facebook or twitter, I’ll demand request you “Like” or “Retweet”, if you see posts from our pages. However, the RSS feed icon is still inactive. We are still working on it. It was added to the immediate development phase for a special request from Daavpuke.

New Features:

There will be some additional features for the Writers and Moderators. You’ll however see few of them too.

We are upgrading our whole framework. Which might not sound anything huge, but it’s as good as developing 50% of NoobFeed from scratch. If you remember the optimization we did few months back to make the site faster, this framework will solve our Auto Sign-out issue and few more bugs which isn’t a mistake of our programming.

And, shortly you’ll find a clock counter at the home page, for game nights. We might be using it for forum and other contests too. Cian has been working very hard to put up some game nights and responses have been really poor to be honest. If you want to recommend any game which you know most of your friends are playing, please recommend or contact Cian with a PM. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it. If the crowed is good, I won’t mind buying games as prizes.

We are also upgrading our Invite Friends feature. Our current feature was not a polished version provided by that company but they now have improved their codes with upgraded APIs. So, there won’t be any problems sending invites to all your contacts.

There are more, but for the sake of my blog's length, let's talk about them later.

New team members:

We haven’t made any official announcement for our two new marketing team members.  All of you already know Amaya, who has been working as an Online Coordinator and helping our writers to get their articles published in other social network sites. And CaseyD, joined us as a Marketing Coordinator, who will be replacing Tanya with some more additional responsibilities. I’m sure her enthusiasm has already caught most of your attentions. She has good experience working for community website and her interest for gaming community has brought her in contact with us. I hope you all coordinate with her well and we all wish her all the best.

That's all for today's blog. I have another to post in few days.
