What was the best game of this summer

This summer we saw a lot of highs and lows. Mighty No. 9 finally released to insightfully depressing acclaim and No Man's Sky become a massive hit, only for players to demand their money back within hours of its release. However, not every release was disappointing and some games not only encouraged people to avoid going outside but kept us from saving money for the upcoming fall season. What was the best release this season?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Following the adventures of Human Revolution Mankind Divided is everything that made the first game a hit and crafted a wonderful sequel. New additions such as reduced animation for the Icarus Landing System and auto-sorting inventory showed that the developers were listening to player feedback. Coupled with a deep interconnected story that offered multiple solutions to each problem, whether in game or dialogue, Mankind Divided encouraged experimentation. The long load screens were frustrating and technical issues did break immersion several times but these were small issues. As a whole Deux Ex: Mankind Divided was a phenomenal experience and I cannot wait to see where the franchise goes from here.
