Borderlands 3 Captain Traunt Boss Fight Guide

Despite Captain Traunt's low self-esteem, he's a formidable opponent. Equipped with both ice and fire-based weapons along with a lot of crowd control options. Do not take this Captain lightly, here's how to defeat him.

First off, make sure you have a precision weapon and something that does high damage against shields. It'll be marked on your weapons description if it does.

Traunt will open the fight with ice-based attacks. Relying heavily on a close-range blast. Aim for the container on his back to do extra damage and keep your distance. Traunt will attempt to charge forward but this is easily dodged. Keep your distance and shoot the container.

During the halfway point Traunt will start to shoot Ice Orbs into the air and one that travels throughout the outer area of the map. Shoot them as they'll limit your field of movement. With the Ice Orbs in the center of the field shooting a constant stream of ice blast until destroyed.

When his health is vulnerable Traunt will switch to fire. He'll now shoot Fire orbs directly at you and summon multiple Fire Orbs into the air. Like the Ice Orbs, destroy them. Using fire weapons is useless here, instead, use Jacob weapons since they do massive damage against health.

Enemies will flood the stage but as long as you're level 18 or above they shouldn't pose a threat. Just use them in case you need a revive.

Just keep shooting his container and Traunt will die.
