Destiny: The Taken King - Tips on Finding the Venus Champion of Oryx

You’ve rid Earth of Oryx’s Champions but others are still out there. Next stop Venus.

This time Champions will appear in designated locations on a timer. You don’t have to do anything to make them appear, which is good and bad. They’ve become public events, and all you can do is head to the relevant location and wait. I recommend heading to a high vantage point and look for black vortexes, these are denoting Takens spawns. Once a message appears stating that Taken are corrupting the area, this is a warning that Champion is about to spawn. Killing Taken is recommend but not necessary, after all you don’t anyone spoiling your date with Oryx’s elites.

The three locations these Lieutenants will appear are the Shattered Coast, Ishtar Cliffs, Ishtar Commons and The Citadel.

One a message appear stating that a Taken Lieutenant is corrupting the land it’s time to fight. Look for the Taken spawns and you’ll eventually find your target with a yellow health bar, that or look for where all the Guardians are gathering. It’ll either be a Taken Captain, Wizard or Knight. Time is critical, you must kill the Lieutenant before they despawn: if this happens you’ll have to wait for another.

One killed you’ll see a message stating that the Taken Lieutenant has been slain. After you kill all three Lieutenants another message will appear stating “Darkness Rises! A Taken zealot arrives to claim you.” Not the most welcoming message but you’ve been waiting for this guy. The Taken zealot doesn’t have any special skills worth mentioning, simply shooting and dodging does the trick.
