One of the primary issues you'll need to deal with in Dune: Awakening is how you manage your water supplies. Using water to stay hydrated and running operations in your base depends on how well you manage your water supply.

Emergency Water Source

You can use Dew Flowers to replenish your Hydration bar if necessary. When exploring the dunes, you can sometimes find water containers where you would typically have a blue bar of liquid visible.

These Containers would refill fairly quickly as well. If you find yourself in a location, mark it down on the map so you know where they are. These can be useful in the early game.

Blood Extraction and Purification

Your first source of water early in Dune: Awakening will be to drink the blood of the enemies you have killed. You will be given schematics to build a Blood-Extraction-Kit and some Blood Sacks to hold it. The blood will then be cleansed based on your Blood Purifier.

You'll be following along with the story, which will provide you with the blueprints so that you can make all these items. So don't stress if you're not there yet. Follow the main story quest, and you will get access to these survival items sooner or later.

Once you have your Blood Purifier and your Blood Sacks in your inventory, hopefully, filled with blood from players or NPCs, you can simply pour the blood into the Blood Purifier. This will then extract the water out of it over time, which you can then drink directly from the Blood Purifier itself.

In actual emergencies in Dune: Awakening, you can simply drink the blood from the Blood Sacks themselves if you have to, but just be aware that it will drain your health while you're in this debuff.

You'll know when you're in the debuff because you'll have a blood icon to the right of your Special Ability at the bottom of the screen. Once that's used up, you can heal to full health.

Portable Water Storage

Literjon is your portable Flask where you can store clear water. You won't receive one until later in the game, but you may find one by exploring a cave. There is one particular place in Hagga Basin South, the early region where you play, in a cave system titled Vents of Eifrit.

You will need to search for these caves, and this particular one will have a fire pit in it. There is a small hidden ledge on the side where you can climb up onto, and tucked away is a chest or container with a Literjon.

What you can do with these Literjons in Dune: Awakening is return to your Blood Purifier at your base and then use the extract water feature so you can fill it with water. You can then carry it with you.

Eventually, you will be rewarded with a Schematic to build one, or you can purchase one from a trader, which is expensive early on. You will eventually find the Schematic as you continue moving along in the story, so just keep playing the game.
