Final Fantasy VII Remake How to Defeat Abzu

After completing the infamous yet amazing cross-dressing section and getting the Don to reveal Shinra's plan he'll dump you into the sewers. It's here where you'll fight Abzu, the Don's pet. Here's how to beat it.

Before fighting Abzu you'll have to choose to check on either Aerith or Tifa, choosing one or the other will result in what Flower Garden scene you'll get in Chapter 14. So choose wisely.

Abzu is weak against fire so equip Fire magic and have Ifrit ready just in case. Abzu is a heavy melee fighter but will charge to close distances between you and him and even bound characters at certain parts of the fight.

Abzu is 1 long fight. During specific sections, he'll leap into the air and use Blackwater Blast, which shoots gallons of sewer water at the player. Head to the opening in the wall and stand in the center to avoid this attack. Abzu's other major attack is Pounce, where he'll jump onto a specific character until enough damage is dealt to force him off.

The entire fight is just dealing enough damage until Abzu runs. If you have counterattack and Elemental Material linked to Fire it'll make this fight way easier. Especially if Cloud has Triple Strike.
