Halo: Spartan Assault Announced for July 2013

Today Microsoft announced Halo: Spartan Assault, an omni-directional top-down shooter for Windows 8 devices. Set between the events of Halo 3 and 4, and being developed by 343 Industries and Vanguard Games.

The twin-stick shooter will have you moving your Spartan from enemy attacks and shooting back in 360 degrees. The game will feature vehicles and covenant enemies, but will give you a birds-eye view of the battlefield.

Halo: Spartan Assault will feature leaderboards, weekly challenges, and connectivity rewards for Halo 4 such as new emblems. A 3 part comic series called Halo Initiation will also be featured in the title. Halo: Spartan Assault will be arriving on July 2013.
